Training tip – Dips

For variation in your training be as imaginative and creative as possible, for example using spin bikes in our studio as a platform for Dips. This is an effective way of targeting our triceps and is more challenging than conventional tricep exercises.

Free Day at Your Gym

Exercise tip: Hip Flexor Stretch


Stretching is an integral part of any exercise programme, and this particular stretch is especially important if you perform a lot of sit-ups, crunches or leg raises.

How would you like to bring a friend to your gym for FREE?  Well, this weekend you can.

From Friday 24th to Sunday 26th January you can bring your friends for a FREE workout.

Over the weekend you can bring as many friends as you like. All we ask is that you do not bring the same friend more than once.

To take advantage of this, simply bring your friends to the club over the weekend. Introduce them to a member of staff to do a health questionnaire and away you go.

Plus, each time one of your friends joins you will get 1 month FREE.

Fitness tip of the week! A straight legged glute raise

One for the experienced member – a straight legged glute raise using the tax suspension training. This worked the overall body along with obviously focusing on the glutes.

Fitness tip – Uphill interval training!

A bit of uphill interval training, nice and simple. Set the gradient at the maximum level of 15 and start the speed at 6.0, and keep increasing the speed by 0.5 every 45 seconds until you no longer can.

With the interval training it’s 30 seconds uphill walk 15 seconds rest and you do this until you no longer can.

This will raise your heart rate and lower it dramatically, creating spikes in your heart which will have phenomenal effects on your cardiovascular fitness. Enjoy!

Weighted alternating lunges

Weighted alternating lunges using the viper to load the targeting muscles of legs, bum & tum, increasing the intensity of the exercise. Added variation would be to twist the torso once you’ve landed the working leg. This active compound exercise can build lean muscle and help to reduce body fat!
